Fox in birch trees
I made the winter fox and birch tree forest scene for my calendar a few years ago, and then added a season each year until I had a full quartet.
I’ve also made a few products with these images: an enamel camping mug, as shown in the (very amateur) video below, a set of four coasters and a set of four placemats, as well as greetings cards and a bone china mug which has either two or three seasons on it, depending on the vintage.
The running fox from the winter scene found his way onto a large-scale image for the Children’s International Book Festival in Edinburgh. Baillie Gifford liked my birch tree scene and asked whether I could put him in an urban setting in edinburgh. I chose Circus Lane in Stockbridge, and also did a Salisbury Crags image and one of the beach in Portobello. The three images in various configurations then adorned the book shop tent at the festival, which made me very happy.
