I love creating brands. My style is mostly quite informal and illustrative, often taking a broader approach to brand identity which incorporates illustrative elements in addition to a logo.
Logo design and brand illustration for Urban Design Works. In our initial conversation, Rob talked about urban design being concerned with the spaces in between the buildings, which caught my imagination. I wanted to convey that in the lettering, but also with people using the spaces. I think my favourite bit is the N slide.
Bonny Claith brand for Cally Booker Hand Weaver. I created lettering that would reflect the idea of warp and weft.
I rebranded John Muir’s Birthplace while creating them a new website. The logo is John Muir’s house, which now houses the museum.
A couple of friends and I run Haddstock Festival in Haddington. We started in 2017 with a one-day event, and in 2020 organised a full weekend, though it was forced online as Haddstock at Home. We returned with a proper in-person weekend event in 2022, and are now getting ready for our 2024 event – 24-26 May. This year I changed the poster colour to green because we have a climate emergency theme running through the programming.
Brand design for local florist Ode to Flora.
Moment is Now mindfulness training. I’ve designed Gillian’s brand, print materials and website, creating lots of illustration along the way.
Above are a few of logos I’ve made for various bodies in East Lothian Council. I’ve done a lot of work for John Muir’s Birthplace, including brochures, product design for their shop, and designing their website. The Haddington Primary School logo was voluntary, as a member of the Parent Council. Below is a random selection of logos I’ve made over the years.
