Tantallon Castle, a semi-ruined mid-14th-century fortress near North Berwick is one of my favourite local castles – great for views and a sense of drama. Built by the Douglas family, they managed to keep it in the family for generations in spite of relentless sieges (James IV and James V both had a go). Naturally, I snuck the Bass Rock in – any excuse.
I have a print with a pink-footed goose flying home for Christmas, and I have one with a shag who, given the angle, must be at Seacliff. That whole picture is drawn with straight lines – I loved the challenge.
Framing will be done at Roo Art in Haddington and you can choose a white frame or one with some warm grey tones like the close-up photo.
These illustrations are both also available as greetings cards.

Gift wrapping can be added at the cart. I use coloured kraft paper and paper ribbon so it’s all completely recyclable. I’ll also write your message in one of my greetings cards.

About my art: I draw digitally in Adobe Illustrator using a Wacom drawing tablet, often incorporating painted and captured textures into my images later. My commissioned illustration features in many local brands. It can be found on theatre posters and albums across the country, and has also included shortbread tins, books, games, animations and recently – the pinnacle of success – a bin in North Berwick.
